Here is a story that actually happened and is genuinely recorded in my families background.

When my mother was a very little girl she became fatally ill with a rare disease called Spinal meningococcus of the Brain. during this time she was hospitalized in fatal condition and the medical staff in charge of her at the time informed my grandparents that they should "Ensure that her last rights are met as soon as possible".

As my mother told me this in her own words, the following happened not soon after....

"That night as I lay in bed, I had a really bad fever which kept me in and out of consciousness. During the late evening it had broke, and as I awoke I noticed a very pretty young woman dressed all in white (Kind of like a nurse but somehow different in other aspects). She was wiping my forehead with a cloth and when she noticed my eyes opening, she spoke to me in a very soft and almost melodic voice. She said, "My child, don't worry, you will be fine and you will heal." I closed my eyes again and fell asleep."

"In the morning when I woke up I was completely fine. I remember the doctors coming in one by one, shaking their heads and some actually walking out of the room in hysterics. They just couldn't believe that someone could have recovered and healed from so fatal a sickness such as the one I went through. In fact, my mother was told that the survival rate of someone in my position was next to nil."

That day my mom asked her mother and a nurse who the beautiful woman dressed in white was who stood over her bed that night and relieved her of her pain (telling her everything would be ok). The nurse informed my mother and my grandmother that she was the only one in the wing the entire night and that no one either came in or out of the room. The room which my mother was in (in intensive care) was situated right in front of the desk where she was siting (and doing her rounds from) the entire time.

Years later as my mother grew up and graduated with honors from high school she was given a special party by my grandparents for having achieved one of the highest averages the school had ever seen. Many photographs were taken that evening, including one that shows a lady peering out behind a large plant in the corner of the hall where my mom's friends and all were dancing.

She was dressed in a white flowing gown and my mother insists she is the same lady who was in her room comforting her that evening.

But the story doesn't end here....

Some years later after I was born and in high school my mother was at her mom's house and felt really weak. So much so that she thought she was going to feint and her heart started to run badly. She stumbled out of the house and onto the sidewalk only to fall onto the grass unconscious. She said she felt herself rising up and watched as her body became smaller and smaller and then turned into this magnificent light. As she went through the tunnel (we all hear about in near death experiences) she was met by this same woman who told her that it "wasn't her time yet and to return to her family as they have further need of her."

My mom woke up in the arms of our next door neighbor who helped her back in the house.

These stories are true and as accurate as the day they were told to me. I wasn't there to witness either one of them, but I can assure you my mother is no liar and when she tells them to people her disposition completely changes.

Those are very interesting stories, Mithander. While the obvious conclusion to the first part of the story is that the woman in white was a guardian angel sent to heal your mother, being the person that I am I have to point out that the whole thing could have been a hallucination as a result of the high fever that she was running.
However, with that being said, the fact that the same "entity" appeared to your mother years later is evidence that the experience is genuine. Add to that the fact that the "entity" appeared in a picture as well only adds to the legitimacy of the situation. I'd very much like to see a copy of that picture if you have one.
It seems to me that your mother has a guardian angel watching over her for some reason. She is a very fortunate person, indeed.
