Unfortunately it takes some time for me to get to hear Sandman’s shows because I have to listen to the recordings and not always get to them live as much as I would like to. Having said this, I finally was able to listen in to the Broadcast on the “Davinci Code” and really felt like I should review/add some interesting points of significance to the topic here.

First of all, the show was very informative, presenting a balanced awareness of theory and conjecture into the history of this subject. As a practicing Christian I will admit the movie shocked me, by eluding to an outright blatant “Gnostic” attempt at secularizing my Lord Jesus Christ by Mr. Brown, and did some study on my own to find out the real “facts” as they are presented on both sides of the subject. This is basically in line with Sandman’s opinion that we should all have an “open mind” and allow for real information to be presented in order that we clearly find our way to what it’s all about, instead of just saying, “ohhh that’s a hill of beans” and throwing it away. In the process of doing this I came upon a point of interest Sandman brought up (during the show) that I found really puts a “Kybosh” on the entire theory as far as Davinci having anything to do with this code or crazy theory, and here it goes:

During the analysis of “John” next to Jesus in his famous painting of the last supper, and the supposed hint of the apostle being in all actuality Marry Magdalene (Jesus supposed wife), I asked my mother who is an art historian of some measure, and an ex teacher at an ivy league college her opinion on the painting. What I heard was very surprising, but later grounded in fact….Every artist of the time left “blueprints”, or design prints of any relief or picture they were to paint, mainly because of everything from plagiarism to assisted support from students, to memory necessities. Davinci did just that for his famous painting, and actually mapped out each apostle within an initial framing sketch to ensure their proper placement. In his own handwriting (and I later found this out to be the case in witnessing a photo of the actual blueprint sketch) he wrote in the names of each one of them….and sure enough, the one right were he placed John was written John in his own writing.

That was enough to start me off on a hunt to find out if the rest of what Brown did was to “exaggerate” real fact to put forth a now obvious agenda, or if he actually had something here worth further mediation upon.

It was at this point that I was given a copy of “Exposing The Davinci Code” and lo and behold, the very same point of The Last Supper Painting as well as many other FACTS, and notice I capitalize facts here, was brought to light and shown for the outright lies they truly are by this author. Now I am not talking about the fictional story, but instead the supported factual evidence he uses in order to bring the story into a more perplexing light.

This movie was done by scholars and professional men who sat down and disseminated, line by line the entire movie and book from beginning to end. They took every aspect of it and used only "facts" to show where Brown got it wrong....

So in conclusion, I found about 10% truth to Brown’s historically illusionary, yet entertaining, albeit “Fictional” work with emphasis upon a supposed factual foundation that really can't be called very factual at all.

I found Sandman to once again give us a very interesting topic and an excellent broadcast.
